Tapered corks Pack of 30
Tapered corks are a simple, traditional way to seal bottles in home brewing—especially for small batches of wine, mead, cider, or liqueurs.
Their conical shape allows for easy hand insertion without specialised equipment, making them ideal for beginners or casual bottlers.
Best for Short-Term Storage: Because they seal at a single point, they’re more suited to brews that will be consumed within a few months.
Tapered corks seal by friction at the widest point where the cork meets the bottle neck.
Most can be inserted by hand, especially when softened slightly in warm water.
Only use bottles with a proper cork-finish neck. Screw-cap bottles won’t seal well with tapered corks.
Please Note: Tapered corks don’t offer the same airtight seal as straight corks, which can lead to flavour loss or oxidation over time.
The taper is 21 mm down to 17 mm in diameter.
This pack contains approx. 30 Tapered Corks.
