Amarillo Hops
Discovered nestling at the bottom of a hop yard at Virgil Gamache Farms in Washington State, USA in the late 1990's, Amarillo® has become the standard bearer for fruit-forward IPA's and pale ales.
Wonderfully versatile, Amarillo's® finest attributes are the intense but well-balanced fruit and floral notes of grapefruit, orange and orange blossom.
Amarillo® was found growing wild in the corner of a field in Toppenish whilst the work gangs were inspecting the field, distinguishing itself with its vibrant yellow bracts. Many of the hop-pickers in the Yakima valley are Mexican which is how Amarillo, the Spanish word for 'yellow' got its name.
