Boadicea Hops
Released by the Horticulture Research International (HRI) at Wye College in the UK in 2004, Boadicea is a product of aphid resistant hedgerow varieties, including a wild Japanese male plant.
Light bodied and clean bittering characteristics, with a spicy, peppery finish in more delicate styles. The world’s first aphid resistant variety, Boadicea is the most environmentally friendly hop available on the market.
As well as its natural resistance to aphids, the variety also has a good resistance to wilt and downy mildew and so requires much fewer pesticides than any other hop.
