The G70 has the same Grainfather quality in a 70L capacity with app integration and smart brewing technology.
- Smart control with built-in wireless connectivity
Wireless control is a built-in feature where you can use your mobile device as a remote control. When connected to the Grainfather App, you can access a suite of brewing tools, recipes and calculators, which you can take with you wherever you go. You can also use the app to automate mash schedules and multitask without losing any of the hands-on brewing fun.
You don’t have to use your mobile device as a remote control. If you prefer manual control, the smart controller has a colour LCD screen with magnetic mounting, making it easy to use and view from all angles.
- 70L preboil capacity
The biggest Grainfather to date. Achieve a maximum preboil volume and you’ll be able to transfer 60L of beer into your fermenter with up to 7.5% ABV finished beer. Perfect for homebrewers who want to produce more beer to share, or commercial breweries who are serious about recipe development with their pilot batches.
- 17kg max grain bill and conical base
The G70 is built for big grain bills with the capacity to hold up to 17kg worth of grains. With a conical base for maximum brewhouse efficiency, you’ll also be able to get the expected gravity from the grains poured into your unit.
- PID heating control
This feature allows you to produce better, repeatable beer through accurate temperate control during mashing. With a large conical heating element that covers 80% of the base surface, heating is efficient and hot spot/scorching is reduced. Automatic heat sensors and safety cut-out are also integrated for dry boil protection.
- Clean in place (CIP) capability
Cleaning after a brew session has never been so quick and easy. With CIP capability, there are minimal parts that need to be removed and individually cleaned. Every G70 has a cleaning filter included, which you can install when needed. Simply add your cleaning solution, run water through the unit and let it drain.
- Large Counter Flow Wort Chiller
Like the G30, the G70 also comes with a Counter Flow Wort Chiller. To achieve similar cooling times, the chiller for the G70 is now also bigger and comes with a more powerful pump. It still has two connection points – one for the Grainfather and the other connection for the cold-water tap. Once connected, hot wort is then pumped through the copper inner coil while the cold water is pumped through the outer in the opposite direction, providing instant and efficient heat exchange to cool your wort. The cooled wort is then pumped directly into your clean, sterile fermenter. This method of cooling and transferring reduces the chance of contamination.
- Rolled edge mash plates and large dual-stage hop filter
No more silicone seals. Both mash plates now have a rolled edge with a smooth finish, making them more robust, hard-wearing and easy to install.
The dual-stage hop filter provides a large surface area to allow for a hopping rate of up to 1.5kg, which also reduces pump load and blockages.
- Integrated sight glass
Volume readings during sparging are easy thanks to the sight glass. Instead of trying to judge the level of your preboil, you can easily sparge until you reach preboil volume. It’s also easy to clean after every brew. The sight glass cap can be replaced with the sight glass cleaning barb to easily recirculate a cleaning solution.
- Mash recirculation hose and barb
With convenient side entry and push fit application, the mash recirculation hose is easy to install and remove, making mashing more efficient. It also improves heating efficiency as the recirculation hose is retained under the glass lid.
