King Keg Bottom Tap 5 Gallon Pressure Barrel - S30 Valve

This King Keg bottom tap barrel features a 4-inch wide cap for easy access, an S30 valve for CO₂ injection, and an integrated tap for convenient dispensing.

Designed for convenience, this 40-pint barrel includes a wide neck opening to simplify cleaning and maintenance. A built-in pressure relief valve ensures safe carbonation and dispensing during use.

The bottom tap allows beer to be poured directly from the base, which is convenient if the keg is placed on a raised surface like a shelf or counter.

Advantages of a King Keg Bottom Tap Barrel:

No Float System - Unlike top tap versions, bottom taps don’t rely on a float to draw beer from the top, reducing mechanical failure risks.

Simpler Dispensing: Gravity helps with flow, so you can pour even if internal pressure drops slightly.

Ease of Cleaning: The wide cap makes cleaning and sanitising more manageable

Best suited for ales and stouts with moderate carbonation.

Important: Designed exclusively for the refillable S30 CO₂ injection system.  CO₂ bulbs are incompatible with this barrel valve

Note: No CO₂ is included with this barrel

Note: To ensure a proper seal, it's essential to apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) around the lid’s O-ring. Hand-tightening alone is often insufficient—using a cap spanner to give an extra quarter turn can significantly improve the seal and prevent gas leaks.

Occasionally, manufacturing inconsistencies can leave small bumps or uneven areas on the rim of the barrel. Lightly sanding the top surface with wet-and-dry sandpaper on a flat board can help level it out, improving the lid’s contact and sealing performance.

IMPORTANT: After filling the barrel, always check for pressure within the first hour. Open the tap briefly - if pressure is present, all is well. If not, re-tighten the lid, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the seal, and test again.

Don’t leave this step for several weeks, as lack of pressure could result in a spoiled brew.

Designed exclusively for the S30 gas injection system. Please note: CO₂ bulbs are incompatible with this barrel valve
