- 1 x LCD Thermometer
- 1 x Wine & Beer Hydrometer
- 1 x Cwtch Red Ale recipe kit (includes malt extract, hops, yeast)
- 1 x Syphon Equipment Fits to the tap
- 1 x VWP Steriliser
- OR 1 x HomeBrew Equipment Starter kit
- You will also need Bottles or a Barrel to put the beer in once made
- Or 1 x Barrel Starter kit
To get started, you'll need to sterilise all of your equipment to ensure that your beer doesn't get contaminated during the brewing process. Once your equipment is sterilised, you can begin the brewing process by steeping the malt extract in hot water. After the wort has been heated for a while, This helps get the malt out of the can's But be careful as the can's will be hot once mixed in the fermenting bin and water topped up, you can add the yeast to begin the fermentation process. Just make sure its not over 30oC otherwise you risk killing the yeast.
Fermentation typically takes around 7-14 days, after which you can transfer the beer to a bottling bucket and add the priming sugar to carbonate the beer. After another week or two of bottle or barrel conditioning, your beer will be ready to drink!
